The time required for the product to yield to its ultimate viscosity depends on the salinity, temperature and Shear. The amount of the Viscosifier to be used will depend on the desired viscosity but normal dosage ranges from 0.5-2.5 lb/bbl (1.43-7.1 kg/m3) the concentration may be increased to 4 lb/bbl (11.5 kg/m3) in case of difficult hole cleaning conditions.
